NORMAN
Norman is an amazing American Bulldog
that came to me with papers. He was going to be dropped at a
shelter so I went and picked him up. I have spent the last year
rehabilitating and working with him. He is a 85 lb. lap dog if you
let him. He is extremely loyal and
playful. He is full of energy and will require a home that can
handle an animal with strong will with an easy touch. He is
slightly timid until he gets to know you and trust you. Once he
does he will be all over you, following you and giving kisses. Due
to his history of being attacked by other dogs, he is best in an
only dog home or with a very submissive non barking female. He is
too big and energetic to be with children and requires a lot of
work due to his timidness with new people. He is an amazing dog
and would be great for the right person or family with experience
with this breed. Norman is up to date on all vaccines, rabies,
neutered and is chipped. for more info |

BURT
Description: Burt is a gentle giant. He is only about a year and
still growing. He is amazing!! Very
gently with children but older children are better because he is
a pup and can knock a small child
down. He was found at the shelter at 4 months of age with no
hair from mange. He has been with me
recovering and growing some hair to show how amazingly handsome
he really is. He is weary of other
dogs and best as an only dog or with a small very submissive
female that does not bark a lot. He is
ok with cats but will chase them. He has been neutered, has all
vaccines, rabies and is chipped. His
mange is gone but his special needs are that he is a large
growing dog that has growing pains from time to time and needs
meds on and off. He also has some
problems with his back knees so no hikes or runs for him. There
is a great possibility in the future that he will need knee
surgery. Burt has the large possibility of large financial
commitment which is common with this breed but well worth every
penny! He should be in a home that has experience with this
breed or the bully breed. He would be
an amazing family pet. |
| It never ceases to amaze me that people throw away perfectly good dogs… I found a cute 8 month female Chihuahua mix (8 lbs) in front of my home…did the whole shelter and poster thing and no one claimed her. More than a week went by and no one adopted from the shelter, so I paid the money and took her out! $200 isn’t bad for shots and spayed and micro chipped! She is good with kids, dogs and cats. Loves to cuddle and walk and is spayed, vaccinated and micro chipped. She is also crate trained. She would love to have a dog playmate as that is what makes her happiest. She has had no accidents in the house so far! Here’s a photo! Contact Karen at (818) 996-3647. |

I've been fostering a cute 16 wk old pit bull puppy for several weeks. She came from a family in South Central who's dog got pregnant (she is now fixed!) and Precious was headed to the shelter until Downtown Dog Rescue intervened. Precious is super cute, super smart and is looking for her forever home. She knows how to sit, lay down, roll-over, go to her bed (crate) and is learning other useful things like wait, stay, come, and how to walk nicely on leash. She plays great with my two big dogs and hasn't tried to eat the cat! Precious is a special little pup that deserves a special home. We've had some applications but they just weren't quite right. So I'm calling out to fellow dog lovers who probably have dog loving friends...if you know of any pit bull friendly people that might be looking for a young pup that will eventually be a medium size (45ish) adult, please feel free to pass along her information. They can contact me and/or fill out an application at http://downtowndogrescue.com/application.htm Thanks! Debbie |
