Rescue

We are looking for the right home for our much loved Alaskan Malamute, Blitzen.  Blitzen is an almost 3 year old neutered male, who is very smart, has lots of energy, and has been a very loyal pet!  He makes a great running and hiking companion and thrives with a lot of exercise.  Although he has been wonderful with our baby, he has been skittish around other children, and has shown protective aggression towards strangers.  Therefore, he needs to go to someone without children and with experience with large, dominant dogs.  Although Blitz is a very friendly dog and has never shown any kind of aggression to non-strangers and his family, he has shown aggression towards strangers who unexpectedly approached his owners.  There was one episode where Blitz tried to bite a person.  This was when a stranger approached Blitz and his owner while he was in his dog run.  The person was left with a single small tooth mark to his cheek.  Blitz has never bitten another dog, and plays well with submissive dogs, but can be threatening to other dogs who challenge him.  He is well trained in many areas, (sits, lays down, shakes, speaks, stays, waits-for food and to enter/exit doorways, is usually good on a leash) but needs someone who will keep up with this discipline.  We are very sad to see him go, but can no longer care for him the way he needs.

Please call for more information,

Allison and Matt Richard

Subject: Dogs needing good home

Two great dogs looking for a home.  Sheppard - Collie Mixes are warm, loving and happy.  They are one year old at the end of October.  They are currently 20 (female - Marica) and 33 (male - Timba) pounds - not very large.  They love walks, can heal, come, wait, sit and down (lay down) have worked with a trainer and with their owners.  They are siblings adopted from the Camarillo pound.  Still puppies, they do need a family/owner willing to work with them - they love kids and are working on not jumping up.  They are free, come with dog food, treats, dog chains, and flea & tick drops.  They have all of their shots, are fixed and micro chipped.  We are very sad to have to find them a new home.

"Angels in Fur" has a 5 month old male Dachshund mixed with a cocker.  It looks only like the cocker around the eyes and ears.  Other then that it looks just like a Dachshund. His name is Monkey and he weighs 15#'s.  He is SUPER sweet and gentle.  He was abandoned by his owner at a vet's office after he was healed of Parvo.  The owner did not want to pay the bill. Monkey gets along with other dogs and cats!!  Please let me know.  I attached my organizations questionnaire and Monkey's pic so you can forward this info around if you are not interested or email the questionnaire back to me if you are:)  click here

The questionnaire can also be faxed to my  home # 818 368-4504

We'll also have a fantastic silent auction which includes a golf package, pet painting, artwork and much much more! Raise at least $100 and you get a limited edition Wag N' Walk t-shirt!

Your Participation in the Wag N' Walk DOES SAVE LIVES - Meet Angela, a spayed, three-year-old German Shepherd/Labrador Retriever Mix, just one of the many dogs we have saved due to your generous participation in last year's walk....

Angela’s life was a tragedy until one of our rescuers brought her home from the shelter.  She had been there for almost two weeks in terrible pain and had not been given any medication.  The people at the shelter said that Angela’s leg was broken and they were going to put her down because the leg would have to be amputated.  How could anyone look at her beautiful sweet young face, and think of doing that?!  As soon as we bailed her out, we took her directly to one of our veterinarians and then to a specialist.  This sweet girl had been hit by a car and dragged--on the freeway!  She had a badly broken leg, some broken teeth and a split in her tongue.  While examining her leg, the specialist found that it had an old break and said that she probably had been hit by a car in the past.  The veterinarian also found buckshot all over her body!!

This is one of the tragic situations that Animal Rescue Volunteers can make happy because of the help we receive from our generous donors.  Of course, Angela’s medical care was expensive, but she, and so many others, are so worth it!  The doctor saved her leg and she went to one of our foster homes.  During her recovery, Angela has been giving her foster mom lots of kisses.  Angela likes just about everybody she meets and likes her foster mom’s dogs.  She could not play with them until she was out of her cast, but sometimes one the other dogs would come over to Angela and lay on her bed to keep her company.  Angela likes that, but she isn’t sure what to do with her foster mom’s cat.  She sits and looks at one of the cats when she’s sitting with her foster mom and when the cat hisses, Angela doesn’t know what to make of it.

This is the story of the first three years of Angela’s life.  Maybe you can give her the forever loving home she deserves and she can give you her unconditional love, devotion and lots of kisses?

Please help us save more dogs like Angela.  Your participation in our Wag N' Walk make a HUGE difference in our ability to help some animals or many animals. Thank you again for your support!

Cinder smooth female border collie, She warms up quickly. She will retrieve and tug. She is a smooth spayed 2yr old.
Mike rough male. He's 8 yr or so and will be neutered. He loves people, will follow you where ever, and stops when you stop naturally.

This loving female pit bull, affectionately dubbed "Sprinkles" by the two little girls who found her, is in dire need of a good family. She thought she found one when she was abandoned in Monte Nido almost one month ago, but sadly this new family is moving out of the country and cannot keep her. She is now feeling more abandoned than ever, staying at a shelter in Santa Monica. Sprinkles is indeed a pit bull, but also has a loving, calm temperament. Sprinkles is not aggressive to other dogs, and is easy to bathe. She's young and has already been spayed.  Please open up your heart and your home to this wonderful dog. She needs you and you won't be disappointed. To meet her in person, please contact Cassian at Karma Rescue at (310) 512-7833.
